June 2008 News..
"North East Texas Horsemen's Association hosted their first AQHA sanctioned show June 13, 14 & 15 at the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center. The show was a success with over 270 entries! With classes ranging from Cutting, to Western Pleasure, Halter and Roping, there was something for all AQHA enthusiasts to show in. Many classes provided the entrants the opportunity to earn multiple points, and double judging is always quite popular. Both of the Civic Center facilities were used for the show, and many participants really enjoyed the air conditioning of the indoor arena! Folks traveled from as far away as Tennessee and Mississippi for the show and said they would for sure be coming back next year.
It had been 30+ years since Hopkins County hosted an AQHA show, and now it will become an annual event. Our facilities are some of the best in the state, and we received so many positive responses, we anticipate this show to grow every year. So many AQHA members are looking for show venues closer to home, too, and we are in the perfect spot to draw entrants from our surrounding states. " More Photos >>>

NET Horsemen's 1st Annual Stallion Auction... What a great time we all had, and we want to thank everyone that attended! A special thanks to Dr. Dickson Varner, Dr. Doug Householder, Dr. John Allen and Dr. J. D. Norris for presenting the crowd with a wealth of information on equine breeding and care. I know those who attended went away with more knowledge than they came with! We also want to thank the sponsors, as without them the event would not have been possible. But the Guests Of Honor, those being the stallions and their owners, made the event the success that we had hoped for! Everyone is invited back next year for an even bigger party, as plans are being made right now.
Feedback from stallion owners and attendees has been extremely positive and some have offered some wonderful suggestions for next year. Please continue to offer your suggestions so we can incorporate them into our 2nd Annual Stallion Service Auction.
Stallion Breedings are still available on our website at 50% of the published stud fee! So if you did not have an opportunity to attend and purchase a great breeding to one of the stallions in our line up, please check the Stallion Page for availability. We will continue to sell the breedings on a first come basis through June 1, 2008. And remember, all foals resulting from these breedings are eligible for the 2009 Futurity! Plus, all foals born in 2009 by stallions whose breeding were purchased will be eligible, too! We will hold special Breeders Classes in 2009 in conjunction with the open futurity classes. And all Breeders foals are LIFETIME eligible for all futurity classes held in subsequent years for their age group! The futurity fund will continue to grow throughout 2008 as more breedings are purchased through NETHA.
To purchase a breeding, please contact Kim McCool at 469-667-1030 or email at threeoaksqh@yahoo.com.
Again, thanks to everyone who attended, participated, sponsored, and helped with the event, you all played a huge role in our success.
